Port History

Anadyr Sea Port has a rich history, starting as a pivotal point for exploring Arctic territories. Over the years it has evolved into a modern logistics complex that plays a vital role in the region’s economy and in supporting the Northern Sea Route.

Founded in the mid‑20th century, the port became the gateway for supplies needed to develop the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug—supporting infrastructure construction, industrial operations, and community needs.

1955
In accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 1044 dated May 20, 1955, and the Order of the Minister of the Merchant Fleet of the USSR No. 237 dated May 28, 1955, a port station was established in the settlement of Anadyr and assigned to the Port of Provideniya.
1961
Pursuant to Order No. 140 of the Ministry of the Merchant Fleet of the USSR dated July 2, 1961, the port station was reorganized into the Anadyr Sea Commercial Port of the 3rd category. In 1971, it was granted the 2nd category, and in 1985 — the 1st category.
1993
In 1993, the port was reorganized into an open joint-stock company named "Anadyr Sea Port".
2001
On June 15, 2001, by decision of the General Meeting of Shareholders, the Open Joint-Stock Company "Anadyrmorport" was renamed to Open Joint-Stock Company "Anadyr Sea Port" (OJSC "Anadyrmorport").
2020
On June 17, 2020, Open Joint-Stock Company "Anadyr Sea Port" (OJSC "Anadyrmorport") was renamed to Joint-Stock Company "Anadyr Sea Port" (JSC "Anadyrmorport").
